.............Lucie laid her first egg yesterday and another today!!!

Lucie and Gwen are the two black rock crosses that I got in September, Pip and Celia are the two welsummer crosses that I got in August........no one else has made a move in the egg department yet.....

My pal tells me this makes me a proud granny??? It's a good job she lives a long way away or I may have been forced to thump her! Ha ha!

Great news though! I was at work for both events but am hoping to bear witness over the weekend, and collect my own breakfast!!

theres nothing like the first ever egg :lol: :lol: aint it a good feeling when it arrives in that nest box i just hope your birds dont turn out like mine i have two that wll eat the eggs before i get to them and it drives me crazy but they only seem to do it on a weekend when i am around :lol: today as i was trying to get 2 out the box one of the girls jumped on another egg so i tried to rescue that with my hand full of eggs and y other hand trying to get her out the way so what did i do yepppppppp i drop the 2 good eggs and broke them

Oh yes, Lucie has laid a half dozen now and I have had 2. ....boiled on toast and then one boiled in sandwich........lovely orangey yolks and dark brown shells, yum!!! Now to get the others to take the hint!!!
