Hello, I am not a keeper of poultry but I am hoping someone here can solve a mystery for me.

On a lake near my home are a pair of nesting ducks. One appears to be a standard Aylesbury or Perkin but it's mate is compleatly different. It is all white with a red wattle around the eyes and upper beak, large upright pointed tail feathers, yellow legs, a narrow pointed white/streaky red beak with a pronounced hook at the tip.

Can anyone identify this for me, and is it likely for different breeds to mate like this ? Being domestic breeds I assume thay have escaped from somewhere nearby.

Sounds like a very strange duck! But could possibly be partbred Muscovy??

Thank you Sir. I have looked at various articles and pictures on Muskovys and I am certain you are right. Although all white is uncommon, it is known. The head and beak are exactly as shown in photos on various site.

So thank you again, mystery appears to be solved.
