i have been a badddddddddddddddddd badddddddddddddddd mummy today to 7 of my ex batts and yes i am kicking myself for it , during the week i have managed to get all 20 birds into the wendy house of a night which is what i wanted to do as i would of liked the ex batts shed kept as only a all day winter summer feeder shed so that they would be cosy eating whatever the weather well it worked fine for about 4 nights but yesterday the ex batts decided they wanted thier own shed back so fine i put them in there and this morning i went in there filled the guttering with food { already had water } and i shut the door after 1 followed me out but i forgot to open the hatch door so they can come and go as they please but i didnt get home tell 4.15 pm and omggggggggggggggggggggggggggg i swore yep i am annoyed with myself and it wont happen again so my poor girls were in from 4.45 last night tell i let them out this afternoon normally thhey are out at 6am everyday

please please dont do what i done always double check i know i will be from now on
 
Oh bless them, I bet the girls told you off!!!
I have done it a few times, gone around and opened up the hen houses in each pen and come up for a coffee then an hour later go to check they all have feed / water to find I didn;t open one of the doors to the houses. They didn;t half give me a ticking off :roll:
Don't feel guilty we have all done it
 
i feel more then guilty :lol: to tell you the truth i feel really bad as it was for such a long time now if it was pouring with rain then maybe it would not have been so bad , thing is the older girls seem to suddenly go for the locked in girls as if to say 'you new ' then i was telling them of for attacking them . think it has to be extras treats tomorw to say sorry .
 
Aw, don't beat yourself up about it... I was so busy on Xmas day what with Santa etc I forgot about my gang, they didn't get out till lunchtime... needless to say their xmas day dinner was a tad bigger than it had gonna be to ease my conscience...
But yes, I like you, am extra vigilant now re: opening up each morning.....
They will have forgotten about it by tomoro x

I was a bad mummy also :oops: About a month ago I was cleaning out their house and . a couple of the girls kept trying to get back in as they were broody so I shut the door. Then I forgot to open it again. When my husband went to shut them in for the night they were all huddled together under the porch bit he had built. What made it worse, it was a freezing cold afternoon/evening. So its not only you Karlooben doing bad things :lol:
 
in one way it makes me feel a bit better that we are all guilty of doing something that should not happen in the first place , .
