well 2 things that make me feel reaaly stupid is

1 - always make doorways wide enough dohhhhhhhhhhh i have 2 quails left that are living in the small pen with house attached which is great as the new little dutches have the house upstairs and the quails live downstairs on the ground with shelter under the nesting tray brillant but this year i want to convert that run to a broody house/run so i need to rehome the quails so i thought i would tidy up the rabbit hutch and add a new base to it then stand it about 2 ft high on blocks so i dont lose any ground space for the bantams only one big prob the hutch is wider then the new doorway of the new run thats attached to the banties run so i cant get it in there without taking the new fencing down dohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so unless i can find a strong man to help lift it over then i am pretty stuck ,.

2- always check every house for eggs     i have a spare little triangle run thingy that i got for the quails but its to small for them to live in there full time so its only used to house them when i am cleaning them out , well about 4 days ago i thought my banties had stopped laying aagin but ohhhhhhh nope they had not they had only been laying in the sheltered end of this run thing that i had forgotten to check checked it today and found 7 bantie eggs :D :D

dont you just love being a chicken owner :-)08

Oh Karminski, you do make me smile! What a wonderful story. Those Banties thought they'd got away with it, didn't they - somebody will be going broody any minute!

think your right there they know i dont check that house every day i'm just waiting for the old ex bat i have to get stuck in there  poor old girl shes mad enough to try it i'll put a note on the door to remind me to check it , funny thing is though i have put them back on newspaper chippings and omg trying to find bantie eggs in that stuff is like looking for a needle in a haystack i had already spent a good 10 mins going though the deep bedding looking for them :-)05
