Celia is about 7 months old and her and her sister have yet to lay. They are mixed breed hens.
They are on their food, combs getting redder and they are happily running in the garden, scratting and eating. They were wormed last in December.hhey are big girls now.
Celia has suddenly appeared to have a hump on her back, near her tail and grease gland. Its her feathers sticking up.
Now I am new to chickens, but when a pigeon gets like that she is not well. Is this likely to be the case for Celia? If so, what can I check?
And when are Celia and Pip her sister likely to start to lay?
My 2 black rocks are younger and smaller and in lay already.
Many thanks
