Hi, im Tina from rural West Lancashire. My partner Steve and I have been keeping chickens for 3 years and previous to this I used to keep Aylesburys.
Currently our flock consists of 7 lovely girls - Bluebell about 5yrs, Storm (another bluebell) 1yr, Speckle (Speckledy) 1yr, Milly & Molly (Marans) 16weeks, Amber (Amber Star) 16weeks and Belle (White Star) 14weeks. We are waiting for 3 Warren POL to become available as a decision to increase our flock abit.

We had 5 others, in 2010 we rescued from a novice keeper who sadly had no time for them and kept them cooped up protecting a manicured lawn. Sadly they stopped lay and as they became rather greedy and vicious to the younger additions, they have been released to a neighbouring farmer to live out their 'retirement' in splendid corn fed countryside! This makes room for a new generation and easier for me to manage but I can still enjoy them. The older Bluebell is the last of these and I kept her as she is docile, likes a cuddle and a good mentor hen!
Steve loves woodwork and I like to sew, bake and read. Diagnosed with a debilitating illness in 2008, I don't currently work and my hens give me outdoors enjoyment, both as pets and lovely fresh eggs.
We live in a rural position as tenants on a corn farm, and both like walking gardening... Looking forward to reading through the forum and gaining more experience and sharing information and trials/laughs about our feathered friends x
