I just published a blog post with detailed instructions on how we built our hoop coop. I hope you like it.

The post can be viewed at http://wholeviewfarm.blogspot.com/2013/07/building-hoop-coop-how-to-construct.html

Please let me know what you think.

Looks very good to me Wholeview and your instructions are very clear with great photos. We have a similar thing to hog rings which we use to assemble dog cages. But I would probably use tie wraps. We could do with something like that to go in front of our coops. Problem we have here is our ground slopes and is uneven, any flat land is used for agriculture. Anything we build has to be 'flat pack' at the moment because of moving it, but when we get to our 'forever home' I will build something along the same lines, if we can get the plated mesh here.

I had to Google "hardware cloth" which appears to be 1/2" weldmesh. Also not clear what size the "cattle panels are". To make it a part covered run one cattle panel could be replaced with a sheet of Solway's Stokboard (or is it Ecosheet - can never remember which is the flexible one).

It occurred to me that Mink will get through the holes and that's a big problem in England. So the chicken wire would need to be higher. Agree with Margaid's idea about the Stockboard/ Ecosheet (I can't remember which is which either) to make one end dry without the need for a tarp. Makes assembly a bit more complicated though.
