I've bought some apple cider vinegar, as recommended, but just wanted to check the quantities I should be using. I know you suggested 2% but my maths isn't very good - how much would this equate to in a normal size water hopper. I don't usually fill it right up as I change it every couple of days, or daily in this weather. Would 1 teaspoon be OK?

Teaspoon=5ml approx. 2% = 20ml in 1litre. So-you need 4 teaspoons /litre -roughly. Check this -my maths isnt all it should be!!!! Ros ----afraid mine get a dose of a splash or two per bucket!

I always used 20ml per litre of water. Usually a bit more as I was kind of liberal with the amount. But 20ml is the correct amount to be effective as I understand it when a poultry breeder told me about it ages ago.

2% dilution is recommended but it doesn't need to be exact. Use only is plastic drinkers and not the galvanised varieties.
