Hi. I am a recently retired teacher. I have kept chickens before, but lost them to a fox about a year ago. I am just starting out with some new girls now that I am home, and found some of your advice on fox-proofing really helpful.

hi Anna, and welcome to the Forum. It's great to have a new member from down under. This is mostly a UK site but we do have quite a few other far-flung members and it's very interesting to hear about the methods and problems of keeping poultry in various climates. It gets pretty hot in Sydney, doesn't it? How do you keep your chickens cool? That must be another problem, along with the foxes.

Hello Anna, and welcome! Tbh, I hadn't realised there were foxes in Australia! They were obviously imported at some stage, were they, so the landed gentry could hunt?
