Hi From SW TX!

I have 3 acres and a, soon to be growing, flock of 13 right now (10 hens and 3 Roosters).

I have:
5 Production Reds
2 Brown Leghorns
1 Black Star
1 Easter Egger
1 Jersey Giant (Juvenile, not laying yet)
1 Barred Rock (Juvenile, not laying yet)
1 Salmon Favorlle mix Rooster
1 Turken mix Rooster

I also have 10 six day old Easter Egger pullets that came with 6 "extra" (packing peanut) chicks and a shipment of 16 "Rare Breed Assortment" pullets coming tomorrow from Ideal Poultry.

My small flock is free range, only cooped at night. I sell the surplus eggs to coworkers and friends and have not had a bug problem since I started keeping chickens three years ago.

I also have 6 goats, 3 dogs, 3 parakeets and 2 cats.

Hi Dimo and welcome to the forum. I assume you are in Southwest Texas? Quite a collection you have already and lucky with the bug problem- we are plagued with red mite here because of all the wild birds.

I'm interested in the idea of buying chicks by post, we don't have that here in the U.K. With your setup, you'll soon be able to provide your own Rare Breed Assortment birds - some totally new breeds in the making!
