hi all, thought i'd say hello and introduce myself. names mark and live in lichfield staffs. after months of considering getting some chickens finally took the plunge a couple of weeks ago. i've got 2 saxony ducks approx 2 weeks old and 3 chicks of the same age. its certainly been a steep learning curve and am beginning to realise how naughty ducklings can be!

i've got a barnevelder a buff sussex and a light sussex. unfortunately all unsexed so keeping my fingers crossed for at least a couple of little girls

Hi Faithsducks. We're from Lichfield and used to drink (a LOT) in the Queens head. Still take the vehicles to Central Garage opposite. Back over in early April.
We started with an abandoned duck and moved on.

I've both ducks and hens-the ducks being far messier but also more entertaining.

messy isn't the word!!!

i've tried everything to try and keep them a dry space in the brooder but have given up! it doesn't seem to matter how much water i give them-whether its a saucer or a litre they still seem to get everything wet and messy! i swear my ducks could make a mudbath in the desert!

but as you say they are very comical and lots of fun
