Noticed a couple of my hens had raw bellies 2 days ago and checked around the perches for mites, couldn't find any. Last night checked again and realized the mites had migrated to the roof along with the birds!
The coup has been pulled apart and taken elsewhere to get rid of the infestation but one of my ex batts is looking very ill and I don't know what to do for her. She is drinking a bit but then sicks the water back up. Is there anything I can do for her! Any advice would be appreciated. :(

I am sorry to hear your exbatt is poorly, a redmite infestation is a real killer and can be really hard to spot!
Basically your hen will be a little aneamic due to the redmite and her immune system may be struggling a bit.
To boost her try a pinch of "poultry spice" this is full of good minerals that she will need right now. Add a teaspoon of cod liver oil mixed into her feed. Also you can try feeding a little kitten food to her.

Check her crop in the morning to rule out any other problems, regurgitating fluids is often a sign of sour crop. Symptoms will be a large "squashy" crop.

Good luck with her, exbatts have a real rough time of it.

Thanks, I will try all of the above. She is still with us and looking a little perkier. She has always been the weaker of all the others.

I have my coop completely taken apart and out in the sun. Have pressure washed it, sprayed with smite and went out after dark and sprayed it again. I've dusted the girls and will spray the new house later in case there are any about. Although the temp house is small, my chickens are happy enough so I can leave the coop apart for a while longer. Can anyone recomend how long I should leave it for? I'll be checking and spraying in the nights to make sure I catch the blighters. Have someone who can get me the old fashioned creosote, should it paint it before putting it back together? I don't like creosote but if it will deter them them then I'll bite the bullet. Is there anything else I should do.
Thanks
