Hello,

Looking for advice from people who hav eexperience with the R-com 20 incubators.

I have been running my new machine now for 9 days. i'm using the hen egg tray for 20 eggs.
After the first 4-5 days with no problems, the machine now have trouble turning the eggs.

The plate under the tray only moves about half the times I try to make an turninging test.

Tried taking the egg tray out, but even then the plate often do not move at all. (Somethimes it does).
It sounds like the motor is having a hard time moving the plate.

Took the plate off - no visible problems.

Ady suggestions/ideas?
Should I have it returned for technical support?

Hi Martin and welcome :)
Is it a pro version or a standard? If standard- take the egg tray out- press the turn button for 5 secs and see if it moves the tray- if it doesn't press it again- sometimes when you replace the tray it is at the wrong end- ( it slides along a groove- and is turned by the spindle on the underside of the upper body (white part)
You can check to see if the spindle is moving by pressing the turn button and watching the spindle- if it's moving ok then you must have a problem with the tray.
regards, David :)

Hello again,

It is the standard version.
already tried taking the egg tray out and doing a turn test - also 2 tests in a row. often the plate itself does not move. Have made sure that the 'turning wheel' is located in the middle of the plates ribs,

Is it on a flat surface? If the spindle is turning then the motor must be ok? You may need to send it back for repair :( once the eggs have hatched!
regards, David :)

yes it is on a flat surface.

It is strange. Sometimes when I do a turn test, I can see that the eggs aren't moving, I lift the lid, and lift the tray a bit, and then the machine will turn the eggs.

At other times, the turn plate does move at all - even without the tray on top. I just do not understand it!

hi, sounds like a faulty motor :( I would contact your supplier to get it repaired/replaced.
I have 5 of these machines and find them very good- going to get the new 50 egg version soon
regards, David :)

I gave up on the Rcom 20's as they had so many problems, had four in total, one did not turn the eggs other said humidity was 45% but tested and was 35%, another kept bleeping water empty when full.
Have now got a different larger incubator and had no problems
