Help!! My chickens are laying soft shells!!

Hi,,
Really need some advice two of my 6 chickens have started laying soft shells!! :cry:
They all lay in the morn then at night two of my 6 girls are laying soft eggs!!
Which only give me four eggs in the morn :cry:
They say it is lack of calcium but how can it be when they r all lasying good eggs most mornings!!
please give me some advice :D
 
Hi -

Have a look at the Poultry Disease and Disorder Page - look under the Eggs tab, there is information about soft shelled eggs and a link to an article.

Does any of this help / fit in with what you are seeing with your birds?

Hello.

Thank you for your reply. I have looked at that page and looked in books.

My chickens all look healthy and dont seem to be in any disstress at all. :cry:

I give them layers mash and there is grit available all the time :roll:

The other chickens eggs are perfect and i have had no problems.

I have bought some tonic maybe that will work lol
