We have two 10 week old bantum chicks, both were fine until a week ago when one developed a limp. When checking leg looks a if her foot is turning inwards slightly and she walks with foot outstretched. She still gets around but sits down frequently. ;) Has anyone had a similar problem and if so is there a cure?. I am inclined to try to strap the leg to try to give her support. Have heard about a slipped tendon, could it be that? Any information would be welcome. Thanks ;)

Hi Evie, best thing to do is to confine her in something like a cat carrier where she can't move about much, but put her in sight of her friend so they don't lose touch. Hopefully after a bit of rest any swelling will subside amd she will be more comfortable walking. If it is skeletal then there isn't much you can do, splinting and strapping normally only works in the first couple of weeks of a chicks life when their bones are forming.
