Hi, new too all this , I incubated 3 call duck eggs, in which all 3 hatched and all appeared to be in good health, however, since about 4 days old and onwards (there now 2 week old) they have become lazy, appear to struggle slightly tryin to get on there feet, once up they can run about etc but majority of time they just tend to flop back down and sit down at any opportunity, it's like there weak:(. First 4 days they were on egg yoak , then chick crumbs from then onwards, there 2 week old now but still seem very lazy or weak, an wow why do they grow so fast? Any help would be good cuz am scared they have problems or are these normal things to happen?

Hiya :) what feed are they on? Does it contain coccidiostats? Ducklings need NON medicated feed.
Any other info would be good. Temperature, substrate etc..
Have they got worse? Are their necks lolling at all?

Hi, for the first 3 days or so they were on egg yoak only, then I started them on chick crumb but little did I no until I had bought it it was medicated, so because it was a Friday and I couldn't get non mediated stuf until the Tuesday I fed them partially on medicated a that's all I had but I also kept them on yoak, I though at this stage of growth feedin them medicated will be better than feeding them nothin at all for 4 days, then soon as I got the un medicated chick crumb they have been on that ever since, there not in a brooder box any more they Rome house for now and have done for near a week they seem happy, sleep alot, at night time they get put in a brooder box then there back out, they eat fine they drink fine and seem to poop fine , when there standing and on there feet it appears to have no issues but at any opportunity they seem to flop down , an when there gettin up seem to struggle at first then hop up then ok again,

I mean do the seem to have difficulty holding their heads up or do the roll back into their necks?

Noo they seem alert etc in every other way knocks are vert long and stable proon them
Selves all the time hehe. If I give them a nudge they get up off there fat bums haha but at any opportunity they will just flop down, I don't think its involuntary I think they do it them selves butaybe cuz there lazy, but gettin up as I say they hoble for second until they get on there feet then when standing there dine they all play an run about but mostly just flop

Do they have a heat lamp and space to get away from heat lamp? Are they huddling or spread apart?

After about 1 week they didn't want heat, I reduced heat right down to 11w in a big brooder 2footby3foot and they were stil at other end spread out so then I opened half lid up to make brooder even less heat and again that night they spread apart in cook end, they love vein in back garden and in the pool, I don't think heat is issue they have adapted excellently I think
