Just cut a couple of nails that where getting too long to walk on and the silly girl moved, so drawn blood..
I've put antibacterial powder on it and tried putting purple spree on, but the bleeding keeps washing it off.
How long will it take to stop bleeding :(

Quite a while, but should have stopped now BB. We wrap ours in Micropore tape with a bit of lint, just to stop anything getting in.

Only nicked it, amazed at how much blood there was :( felt awful and still wince every time I think of it, poor little girl.
She escaped downstairs so couldn't catch her to put anything else on her foot but did get a good dose of powder on it. Think I got more purple on me than her though, probably a good thing as pale lemon feathering doesn't really go with purple.
When I got back this afternoon she was upstairs and bleeding had stopped. ive cleaned up the perch (no sign anyone's bullied or pecked at her) and disinfected it so hoping she'll be ok. Feet don't look too muddy in torchlight but will try to get home at lunch tomorrow to look again.
Any idea how I would spot an infection in it?

Never had one BB so I don't know what a toe infection looks like. Weeping puss perhaps. We put tea tree cream on the lint and have never had a problem in any area treated with it.

Thank you, will keep fingers crossed then and hope I don't have nightmares. Still cringing that I hurt her :(

I'm sure she will be OK, don't beat yourself up about it, it does happen sometimes however careful you are.it helps if you wash the toe before clipping, as then it's cleaner and when damp it's easier to see where the quick comes to.
At least you won't have to do it again for a while!
