Just thought I'd say hello!! :-)99 I'm an artist and do sometimes paint my chooks, but more often than not I just love watching them pootling about! I have about 35 chooks - Indian game, Silver spangled hamburgs, gold pencilled hamburgs, a few randoms, a maran, 2 light sussex, a slikie cross something or other, and some OEG crosses - bit of a mix really! Oh and peahen that I never managed to catch when I sold the others! , and some suicidal turkies - 2 of which will be full filling their dream come xmas!! - the others are a norfolk black x bronze and 2 bronze hens - all with brains the size of a very small baked bean!!!! :D And I recently ended up with some saxony runner ducks which I got at an auction because I felt sorry for them!! :-)02
Here's my little gold pencilled hamburg cockerel:

And one of his girls - they're just so pretty!

I'll have to get some recent pics of my others! :D

Hello Alexart, welcome to the forum. :-)99

What lovely looking Hamburghs you have! Very pretty.

Tim

Those photos are lovely, I'm looking forward to seeing more of them. If your Hamburgs have got brains the size of a baked bean, they must be a lot brighter than mine!
Welcome!

Thanks! Mine aren't too dim compared to my normal chooks - the little cockerel above is a viscious little thing, I have to keep him and his girls in the veggie patch as he decided to try and take on my old dorking orpington x cockerel who was about 5 times as big, he just used to sit on him to immobilise him - all you could see were 2 feet sticking out from underneath him!!!!:D My silver spangle is the boss over the rest of my chooks and he's not very big compared either - they are just such fiesty little birds!!
Marigold what kind of hamburgs do you have?

Welcome AlexArt. Such pretty (and clean) chickens. I don't paint mine, but they get dusted occasionally.

I used to have a couple of Hamburgs a long time ago, but I really meant 'my chickens in general and especially my Buff Sussex' when talking about their limited intellectual capacities, (except for my Cream Lagbar who is really quite bright.) Still I don't keep them to help me do the crossword!
