hello all, I am peter, better known on several internet places as hedgerow pete, due to my habbit before hugh fernnly whittingstale made it trendy on harvesting hedgerows for food and ingrediants,
poultry wise i have been keeping a odds and sods collection of fowl for 11 years now but due to a deseased fox i have had to restart this winter from afresh.
this time i am makeing the choice to go for one breed only as a collection of birds was to complicated to look after.
Ixworths are the chosen breed but i will for now any way this year still keep a small collection of light sussex's to eat but not to breed with, from or show.
the ixworths on the other hand once the flock has grown to its full size of 15 birds will then also produce sunday lunches and if i am very very lucky a couple if not one bird to show and breed from.
no i am not planning on saving the whole worlds stock of ixworths just something to be proud of thats all.
i hope you lot are feeling up to the challenge as i have an awful lot of questions to ask.
