Hi everyone,

We are new to the chicken world and would like to share our beautiful Pekins with you all......They now have the run of the garden (day 4) and seem to be quite content to potter. Love the fact they emerge from the hen house when we call hello.......

Handled them a little, but as for the health check don't know where to start-they are all feathers and fluff. Eating and drinking well and looking pretty perky!! What a friendly & helpful this site appears to be......

Hi,
a warm welcome to the forum, will be good to chat with you.Your girls are lovely, and look very healthy :D .

They are gorgeous, I've always wanted a lavender one but they are hard to get in my area. Wait till yours go broody - I love the way they puff their feathers up which makes them lovely and soft. 8-)

hi and welcome , your girls are gorgeous, i love pekins, but not today it is pouring with rain here and they want out the covered run but i don't want to have to clean their feet after they go digging

Hello all,

Thankyou for such a warm welcome. I'm glad you all seem to think they are as lovely as we obviously do! They are such little characters, and each one definately has its own personality. No matter what the weather has been like this week, we have let them roam free and spent time getting to know each one. Their feet don't look too bad, and they seem to preening themselves very nicely but will keep an eye on them - might attempt a little foot bath this weekend.

Love the fact they seem to coo and cluck when we go out and say hello! Never knew you could get such satisfaction, have always loved and kept rabbits myself- but there is no comparison.....

Thankyou all,
Sharron, Mike and Nik
