Hi everyone

Just a quick message to say hello to you all.

I started keeping chickens when we moved to the countryside 2 and a half yrs ago which was the start of my obsession. This year I hatched out a few rare breeds under my Broody Silkie and hope to continue next year breeding some of my own birds. Faverolles have to be my favourite breed and Im going to concentrate on these first. Currently I have a Faverolles cock and hen which are 8wks old tomorrow , I will post some pics once they're grown to see what you all think, I hope they will be good enough to be part of my first breeding group.

Many thanks

Hello Bluewings and a rather belated welcome to the forum. For some reason the Hello's are not showing on the new unread posts now so I missed your post.

I didn't start that long before you -5 years now. Would quite like some Faverolles myself. That's Foxy's speciality so hopefully she will comment when you post your photos, if you haven't already done so.

Well Bluewings a belated welcome from me too! :D :-)99

There are a few faverolles keepers on here, so look forward to seeing your photos and chatting about this wonderful breed :D

Thank you Chrismathon & Foxy for your kind welcome messages.
I don't quite know what it is about Faverolles I just love them, so happy to have two of my own now which we hatched out ourselves all be it with help from Lilly my Silkie.

I have visited your site Foxy and love getting your photo's through on FB as well, you have some beautiful Faverolles there.

I have posted a question about my Cockeral and his fifth toe Foxy I was hoping you might be able to answer my query if it's not to much trouble :-) At what age can you tell if they will be suitable for breeding ? I can post a pic now if you like but he is only 10wks old tomorown.

Many thanks

Sorry Bluewing, have just spotted this! I hope I have answered your question.. ;)

Feel free to post photos of your young lad here, there are a few faverolles keepers on the forum :D
