Hi there! My name is Steph, my partner is Martin. We keep Bertie(FriesianX-rooster), Pie(MaranX-hen), Laya & Foxy(SussexXLegbar-Hens), Scarlett(FriesianX/Maran-hen), Roadrunner(FriesianXLegbar-hen) and two adolescents from this May, one possible cockerel-"Pebbles" showing strong Legbar/Sussex features(very colourful, neck marking, black/brown/red on white) and one hen-"Squeaks" showing strong Friesian features.(peach feathers and blue feet). We're unsure of Bertie's father's breed so can't say what he's crossed with, but his mother was a purebred Friesian. Bertie, Scarlett, Roadrunner and Squeaks all have blue feet.

We have a small enclosure for them with lots of space for flapping, running, pecking, digging and dust bathing! They all lay very well and we have eggs pretty much year round, bar a month or two. Ours even lay in the snow! :shock:

We hope to learn lots here and share too.

Sounds like you have a nice size flock there...

Bertie & the Chooks - They join up and post spam around the forum - when we spot the post, we ban them and remove their posts. It just happened to be this post they chose to spam with a couple of others.

Periodically, I'll go through all the banned users, check the IP address to make sure they are spammers (usually they come up as being from Asia) and then I delete the account. They don't usually come back after that, it's too much effort for them.

We don't get -that- many but there are are a few popping up from time to time.
