Hi I,me new to this forum but not new to our wonderful hobby. As I have already said I live in rural Norfolk and breed Lg Fowl French Copper Black, and French White Maran, Cochin, R.I.R., Speckled Sussex, Buff Sussex, in Bantam I breed Light Sussex, Buff Sussex, and Red Sussex, I look forward to joining in with some good debates in the near future. 99

Hi and welcome! How brown are your French copper black eggs? We are looking for something that lays nice brown eggs and read that copper blue / copper blacks were the best for them.

Hi Bluetitan and a warm welcome to the forum from the South of France. Not snowing here yet but not that warm either. Forecasting -6 tomorrow night. On the upside, with the longer daylight hours this far South we are now getting 10 and the hens are all coming into lay. Lots of red combs, big poos and excited cockerels.

As Marigold says your considerable experience will be very welcome.

Thanks to everyone so far who have said hi, I will post some photos later when I am near my desktop' only on my tablet at the mo. Just been out and defrosted the the runs for the day all well. Yes Foxey Reds are quite thin on the ground but they are real characters always out to greet you and laying well even now.I think the French White Maran are harder to get as I am having probs with new blood stock. I think that's covered most questions so far oh forgot one , my Copper black eggs are very dark, I have photos on my web site which I added to my profile as not sure I was allowed to put it on this text.
