Hello from Portugal

Boa Tarde! I am a Brit just moved to Portugal. Right now I have no livestock, but I am used to keeping/breeding orpingtons, sussex and polands I miss my birds, but I have just been offered a solo henpecked bird to look after until something can be sorted out so who knows, it might be the start of another chapter. On the other hand, its great not to have the tie of being at home to feed and water, and not have the worry about predators (already seen a pesky fox, and a snake in the garden, and we have martens......) at least for a while as we go exploring!

So, new country, new forum - I look forward to getting to know you all 08

Hi MrsBiscuit and welcome to the forum from a Brit who is in the process of relocating to France. We have Pine Martens here too. They hate chicken wire -presumably because their semi-retractable claws get caught up in it. In the problem areas here people park their cars on chicken wire to stop the Martens chewing their wiper blades and brake hoses. They seem to use rubber as a sort of dental floss. So remember to check your brakes when you go out!
