Hello from NY

My name is Wayne and I live in upstate NY. I've had a flock of Pekin ducks for about 3 years now. At it's height I had 20 but after a tough season of Martin and Coyote visits I'm down to my last 4. I free range them and only lock them in at night. I was hatching "replacements" but after the last drake was taken the eggs are only good for baking and eating. Anyhow I plan on repopulating the ducks this year and I'm adding about 40 turkey. The pest problem was taken care of. I really enjoy the forum and hope I can contribute. On a side note I used to keep a home in West Yorkshire

I love pekin ducks- are they nice big birds? Don't know what the quality is like in the USA but there are some nice examples over here. Look forward to seeing you in the forums,

Great to see you on the forum.

The Pekin ducks here should idelly be a slightly creamy colour and very upright but I have seen some Pekins in Germany and the US that are very white. That said, I haven't compared the American Standard of Perfection to our own standards :roll:
