Hi and thank you for letting me join, I got my first chickens yesterday, I got 8 and they seem to have settled
in very well because an egg was waiting for me this morning, it was a suprise as they are still quite young, 19 weeks the breeder said. I have no questions to ask at this moment but I'm sure I will at some stage.

Hi Gilly and welcome to the Forum.
How nice of her to lay you an egg! Don't be disappointed if its a one- off for the moment, as often the stress of moving to a new home may temporarily suspend production, but as she settles in she will get back on the job. Also the first eggs are quite small and improve with practice.
What breeds have you got?

Hi Marigold, I have 8 goldline hybrids, thinking of getting a few ducks next but not sure
which breed.

Hello Gilly and welcome to the forum. They seem to lay younger all the time. A few years ago 21 weeks was exceptional. I think the quality of the rearing has a big influence, as well as the breeding.

Hi Gilly, & welcome to the forum.
We'd love to see some photos of your girls & your set-up when you get the chance. Keep us posted.
