Hi Tim, In the stores you mostly see white eggs, Im not sure if there is any difference in the eggs other than the color, but i just learned that chickens are fed dyes to make the eggs more white, so im glad im raising my own brown egg layers. i first picked the brown hens because i think they are a nicer looking birdTim said:Welcome to the forum 1eyejer. We have many Cornish / Indian Game bird crosses in the UK as meat birds and for layers, the RIR X Light Sussex is a popular choice. In the US I know they prefer white eggs so go with the Leghorn or crosses for layers. Is that the same in Canada? Do your consumers also prefer white eggs like the US or brown like the UK?
