Hi Everyone
I have never joined one of these forums before so i didn't realise that i should introduce myself, i'm not rude, honest :D . I am relatively new to hen keeping. I started off with a couple of ex batts about 2 years ago and it has grown from there. I am now well and truly addicted. I will look forward to hearing from you soon

Sonya

hi sonya,
welcome to the forum,I er did one better than you and posted my introduction thingy in general chatter.I am blonde and that's my excuse :D .I got 4 ex-batts on 6th september this year, mine are lovely as I'm sure all your chooks are. They are very addictive aren't they, what other breeds or hybrids do you now have?

Hi Lydia
I started off with 2 ex batts but i now have 3 buff and 2 black orpingtons, 2 hybrids, 2 faverolles and 4 ex batts. I think i've had about 12 ex batts in the last 2 years. I also have 4 ducks and 2 geese. I would never of believed anyone could get hooked on hens.

Wow,I'd love to have the space for more. You're very lucky,I've got my four ex-batts and not enough room for much more.I can easily believe how addictive they are,if i had more room,I would definitely have more.
I haven't yet met or seen a picture of a chook that I don't like.Just a few that wouldn't like the amount of space or activity in my house/garden.
Do you have some nice pics of some of your fowl that you can post for us to go 'ahhhhh' over(once I've got a camera that works I will post some of my moth eaten feather duster's)we'd love to see them.

Hi Lydia
I have tonnes of photos but i'm not sure how to put them on. If you have the patience of a saint maybe you could explain to me how to do it

Sonya :?

Hi,when you have the box up for post a reply, along the top are some grey boxes, one for bold, italics, underline etc.the one says Img,if you press on that, you get two box things in your text, and your cursor is in-between them. You then add the bit that is under your pic(think it's called the link)by 'cut','copying'and pasting.
I think........I'm hopeless with a pc,I think you can also put a link for a pic you've got stored in photobucket this way.

I think Snifter did explain how to do pics on here,it is probably at the bottom of the board index, somewhere like general chatter.

............um,if i've got it totally wrong  I do apologise...........

Just found this post by Tim,I think I did get it wrong........

er.....now I can't cut copy and paste.........come back windows 2000,I can't do vista......

Welcome Sonya,

Thanks for saying hello and...don't worry Lydia.... Here's that post.

Ideally, if you put them in the chicken photos sub forum that would be great, I try to keep things in the right areas so it's easy for people to find things they are interested in ;)

Posting Pictures

See you on the forums Sonya!

Hi All
Thanks for the info on posting photos. I will have a go at the weekend, hopefully.

Sonya

If you copy from Photobucket put your curser on the pic and a box will appear below the pic. Click on the little box and then scroll to the bottom of the page. There will be some blue boxes at the bottom and click on the one to the right. It says something like generate image codes for html. A new box will pop up and I use the one that says clickable thumbnails for message boards. Highlite the text in that box then right click the mouse and choose copy. Go back to your message you are posting and right click again, choose paste and click on that. Once you use it a time or two it will be old hat and easy for you to do. The reason I use the thumbnails is that they load faster for those still on dial-up.

Once in the thread the pic can be clicked on and it will enlarge.

Great advice for Photobucket - I have copied this across to the Posting Photos thread too for others to see when they are trying to post photos.
