Hello and help

[Darkwings]

Hi everyone! I'm new and wanted to say "hello". I've recently acquired two ducklings. I was contacted by a chicken rescue who had been contacted by animal services. Neither organization had the setup or knowledge to raise ducklings. My only question is what are they? I have never encountered any ducks that look like these. Any suggestions? Thanks!

They simular to any other ducklings I have seen.You may have to going to wait a while until some characteristic will show,but maybe I'm just wrong and some people know what they are

Hi Darkwings. Very cute but they look to me like any duckling -our Mallards looked very similar.

Thought you were on holiday Tygrysek, to avoid the Olympic madness?

Stunners! The key to the breed is where they were found, this will narrow it down. Are they wild hatched or domestic? They don't look like mallard to me, I have raised some hitch potch mallard orphans and none ha e this distinctive marking. Could you get some more info and I will investigate for you

Thanks, I appreciate it! They're from San Jose, CA. They were surrendered to animal services, so I would like to think they are a domestic breed, but I don't actually know. I will try and contact someone to get some more information.

Great, if they are wild hatched they will need different care, as I am sure you know!

I found out today that they are domestic!
