There's a deafening silence on here. Hope you haven't been blown away by the gales. I seem to be fortunate and sheltered by some of the Shropshire Hills so although windy, there's no damage caused.
 
Wind gusting to 50+ here but when I counted the trees this morning they were all vertical. The bamboo screening covering the mesh round one end of the chicken run is doing a really good job - lets air through but filters the wind so it's quite pleasant in there, for both me and the girls - minimum feather ruffling. Up on the hill here, we're in no danger of flooding, but last year two tiles blew off the roof - luckily nobody was underneath or it would have killed them. I expect one day a wind will do worse damage. Do you remember the big storm of 1988( ?) which flattened trees right across the S. of England? It took out all the sheds and greenhouses along our row of gardens, but by amazing luck we had dismantled our old greenhouse the day before and had all the glass safely stacked for the friend who wanted it.
Yesterday I pruned the apple trees - this is the first year that I've actually needed, and been able to climb up inside the Bramley to reach the taller shoots. After at least ten years of pruning the tree to a cup shape with no ingrowing branches!
 
No damage here but the BT mast was down so five days with no internet, catch up TV etc. Came back on an hour ago.
My stock is all OK but loads of dead sheep around. That fatal combination of cold wind and driving rain does for them.

Well we survived 2 days with having 50mph gusts, Monday afternoon wasn't too bad as it only lasted a couple of hours, Wednesday it started late afternoon and went onto 6am. At least it waited until hens were all tucked up safely. Then as wind stopped the heavy rain started for about 5 hours.
Just great when you are walking to the dentist and the school run seem incapable of going around a puddle, it was a relief to get into the dentist. Why do people say "at least it's not cold" give me cold but sunny any day over grey and miserable.
Sorry to read about the sheep Hen-Gen, glad your stock is ok.
I do remember the aftermath of the storm of 1988 ish. We lost half a dozen tiles and found a satellite dish in the garden and a huge piece of metal sheeting that would have decapitated anyone in it's path. A local Art Deco cinema lost part of it's roof above the screen but that evening the show went ahead with tarpaulin over the roof, and rain coming through in places just to make the rain scenes more realistic.
 
Awww Marigold, I just watched that mini video, so innocent and lovely. Do you remember the "Clangers" with the soup dragon? Reminded me a little of those.

Wind? Here in Nottinghamshire it was windy on Wednesday, not too bad today. Roll on Spring.
 
Windy and wet again here today and poured with rain yesterday afternoon so the driver's windscreen wiper decided to stop working. Fortunately I was near to a helpful garage where they ended up drilling a hole and putting a split pin through the parts to hold it together. Now need to look on eBay for a secondhand replacement assembly. Can't really complain, the car is over 20 years old, has stood outside all its' life ad has covered 190,000 miles. Just need to keep it going until the magic day then I can think about replacing it!

Sorry you lost bits off the house Diane. Glad your stock is OK Hen-Gen although sad about the sheep. Marigold the fox needs your knitting skills!

We were just talking of foxes, strangely, on hearing the news that Derek Fowlds had passed away. Remember him as Mr Derek with Basil Brush from our childhood. Brilliant in Yes Minister also.
Remember the Clangers as well
