Hatching question

Hi everyone, got a question (don't know if it is a stupid one or not )
We are planning to hatch some more eggs in March. Last year we did it under 2 broody Pekins in their own small run. All went well; they shared sitting on the eggs and looking after the chicks-wonderful! One of the hatched chicks was Eddie the cockeral and he still lives with them in this run. Would it be safe to hatch eggs with him in the run or would he kill them? I could move him to the large run but don't know whether this would upset him. :-)05

Hello, most cockerels are ok with chicks- it's normally other hens that can be the problem- it is always better to let one hen sit alone in her own house/coop and raise the chicks by herself- you were lucky your two hens got on ok and didnt fight over the chicks as most would.
I would try to keep just one broody hen alone with her eggs/chicks- that way she is not getting hassled by the cock or the other hens.
regards, David :)

Thanks David, I will take your advice. Better to be safe than sorry. :)
