hi my ducks started to hatch yesterday and it has been all night and another day and they don't seem to have made a lot of progress, they are peeping and they have there beaks out but nothing else, should they be hatched by now.
what shall i do.

Ducks do seem to take a long time to hatch. I dont normally interfere...as long as the humidity stays up they should be fine, I have the humidity higher for ducklings than for chicks and on hatching day it is around 70%. You can check this by looking at the condensation inside the incubator...and can you see the membranes through the plastic? Do they look OK or a bit tough and shrink wrapped?

Are they hatching on time or early? I have helped out ducklings before but that was because they had pipped at the "pointy" end plus they were a little late ot hatch so I fugured it was OK as there development should have been complete.

i hate pipping time i have to go out and go no were near for at least 40 hours or i want to help. best to leave or you let out moisture

Thank you all for your response, the ducklings have now hatched i did help a little, they did arrive early 26 days so i think next time keep the incubator temp a little lower.

If they are call ducks they are 26 days, unlike most duck breeds. Glad they hatched out! so hard not to help!
