Happy Christmas to all of my forum friends

OH took the Christmas decorations down today, as she dislikes them up in the New Year, like you Hen-Gen we had roast beef a joint from our neighbours Dexter. Spending a quiet evening with some cider and cheese and biscuits then it's early to bed,up at 3 30am to start work at 4.30. OH starts at 7am.

Yep. Power cut at about 9.30pm. Whole island in total darkness. No point in sat up staring at a candle so early night for me as well.
Nevertheless a lay in until 11.30am, dog standing cross legged, sheep stood around their feeder looking miserable. Animals have a way of engendering guilt that makes humans mere amateurs! Friends coming for tea and biccies, so I’ve just learnt, so no leisurely breakfast for me. My one pullet that is still laying is a life saver.

Yesterday I found I had too many eggs in the fridge from my 5 pullets, who still think it's fun to lay every day, so I took boxes round to my neighbours with New Year's wishes.It's nice this year to have plenty for friends and family, and I'm hoping that next winter they may still be managing one or two a day to keep us going for breakfast.

Well we had the most riotous NY I can remember for a long time, no bed till 3am!

Part of this involved going next door at 11.00 with our own dinner guests as next door were part of a mobile dinner party (different courses at different houses). Our friends from the city were most amazed when next door took off at 11.30 to go somewhere else for midnight and left us there instead looking after their house and dog.

I did feel pretty rotten on NY Day though, too much to drink (including home made cider and home made cherry liqueur) and coming down with nasty bug. If I ever made a resolution it would be not to do it again, but I know I won't take my own advice, so I don't bother.

Well I bet the home made cherry liqueur was lethal, home made things tend to pack a punch.
Good job I didn't make a resolution to be nice and more tolerant to my work mates, as I got in to find, the traffic office day person instead of starting at 4.30 showed up at 5.20am, two people who had begged to work New Years Day (we need the money) rang in with dubious excuses yet again being serial offenders. Good job I didn't want to give up swearing either.
