Green Egg!

Just wanted to share my news - my new Skyline, Blossom, laid her first egg on Monday and it's a lovely olive green! Very exciting as I wasn't sure what shade we'd get.

Her eggs are really tiny though - more like bantam size. Will they get bigger?

Brilliant, congratulations on a very exciting first egg! Who gets to eat it?
Yes, the first eggs are often quite small and do increase in size once the pullet has had a bit more practice. Sometimes they go to the opposite extreme and start producing huge double-yolkers (ouch!) but they settle down and get more regular after a few weeks. Eggs in the sexond laying season are often larger than the first lay as well.
