My goose has been limping for a few days. Today she has been lying around not eating though I moved her onto good grass, tried dandelion leaves & wheat but no interest. She did do a run & flap up the paddock with her gander. I dosed her with levamisole wormer yesterday evening & had hoped to see signs of at least being more lively. Her poo doesn't suggest anything except she hasn't eaten anything to produce much at all. Any advice welcome?

Is her leg swollen at all? Also,I think in the cold we've had they can be more prone to bumblefoot, have you checked for that?

It sounds like worms to me. Geese going off their legs is usually caused by worms.

I don't know if Levamisole kills Gizzard Worm? It is particularly common in Geese and will cause them to go off their legs. I have very little experience of Levamisole. Gizzard worm in sufficient quantity can impact the gizzard and stop normal feeding / digestion.

Flubenvet should kill all worms at 30ppm (except Tape Worm) if you can get some. I would be tempted to add a dose to some water and syringe it down if she's not eating.

What breed of goose is she? Toulouse are proned to a dropped tounge that will get lodged in the hollow in the mouth and stop them eating as another thought.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.
