50% females silver spangled and 50% if the male was gold spangled. If the cockerel was gold and the hen was silver the chicks would be sex-linked.
All the chicks from your cross would have silver down (male or female)as you are using a silver spangled boy.
I think the offspring would be silver spangled female chicks and silver spangled males split for gold - (the males carry two colour genes the females only one) You could use the males from this cross if you wanted to make gold spangled as they would carry the split gene for gold. The males however, may not be a good quality colour leaking a brassiness onto the silver.
Don't take this as red though..would need someone like Lordcluck to confirm I am not talking gobblygook!
It's as Foxy says ( I think! ) a pure Gold male on pure silver females will give you gold pullets and silver-ish( Brassy ) cockerels. The reverse mating should breed you silver pullets and silver-ish cockerels.
