Hi ,just wached great video on YT about reusing old pallets and the way they can serve their life longer.I had made a compost bin from old pallets but my imagination just got more ideas beyond this.I hope you enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFGaW2FdKB4&feature=related

Pretty good Tygresek. I built our first coop out of 9 pallets, but it's very heavy and staying here. Built the interior panelling around the sash windows upstairs out of a old packing crate, because I wanted wood with 'age' and fully seasoned. Recon you could build an entire house from them (except the roof)!

If you look on YT you will find an project for alternative house for refugges made entirly of pallets. It is much better than tents:)Wonderfull stuff. Can you plese post your chicken cop picture in here, please(the one you made from pallets)

Hi Tygresek. This is the first coop I built over Christmas in our cellar 9 years ago. Started with 9 pallets, one of which was closely boarded 1 x 1.2 metres used as the floor. The others were dismantled and made into the sides plus the roof, which is one very heavy piece. The end section you can see was a replacement when I turned it from a duck house into a coop and added a door. Some of the end cladding is made from a Wendy House roof -I raised the roof, rebuilt it with ply and felt and turned it into a feed store.

Overall it has lasted well and shows no sign of rot. I creosoted the interior last year because we couldn't kill the red mites. There are too many places for them to hide. It has an interior nest box and a shelf type perch, neither of which are much good. It is also incredibly heavy so it will be staying here when we move.

This is fantastic Chris and lasted so long.Wow,looks very good too.I'm thinking of making another cop for the boys with separete run from girls. Some of them have no feathers on their backs ,and new cockrell getting very interested in them too.
Anybody else made something good from the pallets, please show the end result.

You have to see this chicken cop!Fantastic
