Hi,I have been keeping a small flock of free range hens for over a year now and am toying with the idea of adding a couple of geese.Trouble is I know very little about keeping them.Would someone be kind enough to give a total novice a little info. please, viz. are they noisy,do they need a pond,do they graze o.k. with hens and are they easy prey for foxes?Sorry if I appear dense, but I don't want to get them if I can't look after them properly,I'm proud of my hens and their welfare and would hope to be the same with any creature.P.S. maybe I could ask the same questions about ducks,if I can't manage one then maybe the other.

Hiya and welcome :)
If you need ducky advise or rescue ducks I can help, but there are more knowledgable people on here about geese. One thing is for sure though, the key being in the description, any waterfowl need water to bathe be it sucks or geese.

There's a section on the main Poultrykeeper website about keeping geese, including advice for first-time owners, here http://poultrykeeper.com/keeping-geese/
