I have recently moved to Charters Towers (Qld Aust) and have brought my goose and duck with me. They don't like the grass in the yard. What is a good choice to plant that will still look OK as a lawn but provide them with yummies. At the moment they are surviving on lettuce and anything I pick up on my walks with the dog (most of which they turn their nose up at too) I was thinking of trying a patch of lucerne but can hardly have a whole yard of it.

What else are you feeding them on Jen? Welcome to the forum btw! :-)99

Hi Foxy, Thanks for the welcome. I have also been giving them a mixture of grain, sunflower seeds and chook pellets, along with their bread which I give them as a treat since they seem to like it - only a slice each per day. They have the yard to run in but they don't seem to like the brumby grass that grows there. I had acreage up until now but have had to move with work. Gozzie must be about 15 best guess and the duck - no idea. Since I have to plant some sort of lawn it may as well be goose friendly as well as looking a bit loved.
