Tim was very busy over the weekend, rearranging some of the subforums and changing some of the headings a bit. Rufus' original suggestion about separating the threads about housing and runs out of what was General Chickens, also set me off on weeding posts about Pests and Predators into a second new subforum which Tim created. It was a big project which took a lot of time, reading through and moving threads from the original 136 pages of General Chickens, each page with 25 entries, dating back to 2009 when Tim first started the forum. But it was a really fascinating read, so many people's real stories about chicken keeping, their problems and ideas, successes and tragedies. Do have a read of the archive when you have time, especially Pests and Predators, which is rather dramatic in places....
I think that the Poultrykeeper website is a brilliant encyclopaedia of the principles and basic essentials of poultry keeping, whereas the discussions, the questions and the advice on the forum put it all into individual context and reflect the many ways that we try to help each other to do the best for our birds. And a lot of the posts are really funny and lively as well, whilst all being friendly and supportive rather than critical or nasty, as can happen elsewhere online.
I was glad Tim was happy to change this part back to The Dustbath, now that PP forum is no more, and it's great to see that so many of the old bunch have now settled in and don't feel like refugees any more!
