Hi All,
I have had my 2 girls for 6 months now and need to get some flubenvet. I looked in our local pet shop that has some chicken bits, but they didn't sell it. (The lady behind the counter hadn't heard of it!) Please could you tell me where I can buy it?

PS Our ladies are celebrating... We had our 200th egg from them this week!!!! :D

Try Petmeds, see

£17.99 sounds a lot but will do 20 chickens, so it will last your two for the foreseeable future (or until the chicken-collecting virus strikes you more urgently!)
If you haven't used it before, there are several threads at the top of the Chickens Health section on flubenvet, or just ask if not sure of the best way to mix it up. You can buy pre-treated pellets but for just two, a 20-kilo bag wohld be a lot left over and go out of date unless you could share it with someone else. But anyway it's quite easy to mix it into their ordinary feed in the way suggested on the packet.

Marigold got her reply in first but I will post mine even though it says the same CC:-

Ours comes in the 60 gramme small keeper packs (treats 20kg of feed) from an agricultural merchant licenced to sell it (CWG is ours). Our vet can get it as well, but only in larger quantites. We found an on-line animal medication site at a country show last year. They sold it much cheaper than CWG ( who were £18) plus postage. You have to answer some questions before they let you have any. Incidentally, they do prescription -only stuff as well, but obviously can't send it without a vet prescription (which vets now have to give you on request). Sorry but I can't remember the name and can't find the card at the moment.

As we have a lot of chickens we buy 40Kg (in 10Kg bags) of Marriages layers premix with Flubenvet on-line (SPC is only licenced supplier at the moment I think?). Too much for you at the moment as the shelf life is 3 months only, but worth considering in the future as it is so easy to use, just replace their ordinary feed.

We mix Flubenvet 6g scoop with olive oil to get a smooth paste (about a teaspoon) and find the subsequent mixing into the food a lot simpler and safer.

Congratulations on the egg laying which is impressive and you are obviously looking after them well. Only thing I'd add is although it might not be the easiest thing to get Flubenvet, don't be tempted to try other products as most don't work.

:?

Flubenvet is readily available. It can be bought online, or from your local pharmacy if they do veterinary products. :)

I buy mine from http://www.wormers.co.uk.

You are required to fill in details about types of animals you have and numbers. I have used them for several years now for this and for Drontal Plus as well as Plaque Off for my dogs.

Discovered them when I was up competing at Crufts where they had their stall, and have recommended them to lots of people since. Very efficient service. Currently just over £14. Plus very small charge for postage.
