Surrey Aug 29, 2016 #3 I always think that first eggs are one of the most exciting things to happen to chicken keepers, old or new. My pullet Croads are now 17 weeks, but I can't hold my breath as sometimes they can be months coming into lay, being huge birds and very long lived. I have learned not to expect eggs at 18 weeks old onwards.
