In all this bitterly cold weather, I worry about my tiny Pekins and Polands! Their hutch is well stuffed with straw, and they have pellets and corn ad lib, but I wonder whether there are any additional feeds which will help them keep warm and healthy? I've been giving them porridge oats mixed with warm water in the morning. Is this silly, or a good idea?
Thanks

i would say a good idea but just dont over do it and make them to fat , as long as they have a dry an warm house to escape to they should be fine .

Mine are having extra corn in the afternoon. Layers adlib too. plus some codliver oil for extra protein & ACV in the water.

Just make sure that you dust your hut with powder containing permethrin, as straw can harbour mites/lice.

Warm mash, you can get it in all goods farmer supplie shops. you can put any left over veg in, they love it!
