I've noticed one of my speckledy hens a coupleof times pecking my one of my black rock's head near the comb on top of the head and in so doing has created a very small bald patch. I've noticed It happens when I put some treats down (but may happen at other times too) and she obviously wants to show her who's boss and make sure she gets priority in the food stakes.
While it is not a major problem at the moment, how can I nip it in the bud before the blackrock loses any more of the tiny feathers, but unfortunately as I have only one coop, i am unable to segregate them not that I would wish to do that as otherwise my flock of 4 get on pretty well together

Hi,
Some polands I bought had been doing this- I gave them lots of space to keep them busy and stop them getting bored and also used anti peck spray- it tastes horrible and is meant to stop them pecking at each others feathers so it could be worth a try. Mine are starting to regrow feathers on their bald heads now :D
