feather loss

One of my chickens died yesterday evening and prior to this I had noticed over the last week of so that it had lost all of it's feathers around it's neck and head. I had put this down to bullying by the other hens but wonder if it was actually due to illness or disease. Has anyone else had this problem or know what it was? Thanks

It could be bullying (that has caused the feather loss rather than the death) or lice.

Check the rest over for lice and any signs of pecking.. the culpret is often the bird with all her feathers :roll:

It could be something as simple as her putting her head through a gap in a fence to reach grass or something...
