Feather fest

Just a daft question, do hens moult, one feather at a time do they pluck them out, or fire each one out or just go, BAM and shoot all uneanted feathers out in one go.
Has anyone filmed a hen moulting ?
Just wondered.

Depends on the chicken, some drop hundreds of feathers in one go, others moult a few feathers at a time.

It varies from hen to hen and depends on age and general health. Had a Barred Rock that would wake up in morning give a huge shake and be nearly naked, others take it slowly in a ladylike manner, a couple get quite grumpy whilst moulting.

Aha i see.
My reason was in the evening there were no feathers anywhere.
In the morning it looked like a pillow fight had gone on , feathers everywhere.
I just wondered how it happened.
Would love to,see a yountube film of them being rejected.
