Well I have now had a Fart egg (wind egg) from my lash egg / no shell egg laying girl.
Should I be giving up on her ever laying again?
To date she has laid
4: no shell
2: lash
1: fart

I really don't care if she is hen-opausal as she is a pet, eggs are just a bonus, I just want to make sure she isn't uncomfortable, and that there's nothing sinister potentially going on inside.... whats your thoughts?

As the eggs aren't important to you, and she is a pet, you may have to accept that her productive days are over, though she may surprise you with a few softies from time to time. the main thing if you want to keep her going as long as possible is just to keep an eye on her and assess her quality of life from day to day - she may go on for quite a while living a happy life in the Spring sunshine, and if she is uncomfortable you will just have to give her warmth and privacy to rest and see if she pulls round. Nothing really you can do, as she hasn't got an infection or anything treatable. I've found that aging hybrids do seem to vary from day to day in how lively they are - I had one that i was certain would die overnight on two or three occasions, and next day she was as bossy as ever. (In the end i had her and her friend PTS, however, partly because the 'episodes' got more frequent but also, dare I say it, to clear the way for some new pullets.)

Fart Egg!!     as long as she's fit, well, happy and functioning let the old Girl Fart as many wind eggs as she wants I say!! :D

It does sound as though she's had enough Aileen. All that running about cramming food down to make another egg -retirement looms. You don't say what breed or age but we had a two year old Black Rock (Annie) who laid fairly mediocre eggs all her life and then shed her entire ovaduct, followed by Daphne a few weeks later. Annie then feathered up really well and thoroughly enjoyed another year, before succumbing to abdominal infection.
