Eggs taste of bedding

Recently we have noticed that our eggs have a slight taste of sawdust , we clean out the Ark each week and refill with clean shavings , could the Chickens be eating the bedding . They are let out of the run and free range in fields all day

any advice appreciated

I've never heard of that before - I doubt they would eat their bedding, ducklings will but chickens don't usually bother with it - could you try changing bedding to see if the taste goes away?
