Egg bound hen, tips for the vet!

I have a egg bound chicken 3-4th day, i can feel the egg tried warm baths,Vaseline on the vent but still no joy.

made a appointment to see the vet, i am not to sure what his like with chicken, can anyone suggest anything tips i can pass onto him!

If it's been 3 to 4 days, it is imperative to get that egg out, there could be more backed up. We can't give advice to a vet, however, they may consider a calcium injection, and manual removal of the egg, every last peice would need to be removed.
The vet might then consider a course of Baytril to counteract any infection as breaking and removing an egg from an egg bound hen carries a risk, however, considering the length of time she has been egg bound I can't think of any other options.
