Is it me? Am I turning into a miserable old git?
Last weekend I ordered three different sixes of hatching eggs from three different breeders. All three breeds lay tinted eggs. The first lot arrived today. I’ve scoured the packaging and labelling. No way of telling which six they are. No senders name, no serial numbers that relate to the order number. The eggs are not individually marked with pencil to indicate what breed they are.
Sometimes I just want to get a Kalashnikov and go on a murdering spree.
Hopefully at hatching I’ll be able to distinguish Mottled Orpington/Jersey Giant/Silver Pencilled Wyandottes from one another.

Its not you, HG, its everybody else!

Lovely mix of birdies. The MO should be interesting, LF or bantam? When I left the UK they were quite well advanced in terms of being 'typey' for an orp, and I do like the colourway. Also, as I have never fulfilled my ambition of keeping JGs, what colour are you getting/hoping for?

Let’s hope the other two batches arrive properly labelled, HenGen, then you’ll be able to tell the unmarked ones by process of elimination. And then write a scathing review on the right seller’s page!

Well, you did start this thread by wondering if you were turning into a miserable old git!

I do feel that a polite but informative review of your problem might help others ordering from this supplier, though. Not many people would be likely to order from three different sellers and eBay eggs haven’t got a very good reputation generally, thanks to a few unsatisfactory sellers. And similarly, good reviews for those who do come up with the goods.

In their defence, did they know that you were ordering from two other suppliers at the same time that you were ordering from them? If they thought you were just buying 6 eggs, they'd surely expect you to unwrap them & think "ah, here are the eggs that I ordered "?

No, you’re right Icemaiden, they didn’t. Having said that neither did the others but their eggs arrived with each egg being pencilled with MO (Mottled Orpington) or SPW (Silver Pencilled Wyandotte).
Anyway they’re all in the incubators with my own mark (an X) so I can look in and see that the turning mechanism is working correctly.
I followed your suggestion Marigold and private messaged them thanking them for their speedy and efficient service but gently suggesting that they might like to label their eggs.
So I’ve cancelled the Amazon order of a Kalashnikov (I suspect it was a toy one anyway).
